DT member Sarah Douglas has been busy crafting away for Christmas with our festive decoupage papers & Always & Forever collection this week, and we just love her designs! Sarah used our delicate Always & Forever lace & festive CC decoupage papers to make this sweet little tag! It's just perfect for adding that finishing touch to your wrapping this year! 🎄
🎁 Do you make your own gift tags? 🎁
Sarah -"I found a wooden tag blank among my stash of wooden shapes and decided to decoupage that first as tags are always handy at Christmas. You can add wooden tags to presents for a really special, luxurious extra touch and then the recipient can have it as a little keepsake."
"To preserve the pretty design I decided to use my usual method of decoupage where you put the paper on all in one go and then sand down the edges so it looks as though the paper has become part of the wood. You can see my tutorial on how to do this technique in my YouTube video below. Use scissors to cut out though rather than a craft knife when working with thin decoupage paper."
Sarah - "After I finished the tag I decided to do a matching card. I like using decoupage paper on cards – it’s a little bit like using tissue paper – you get a soft, translucent background and it can be easily torn round the edges to create a rustic feel to the card.
I then added a strip of gold card across the front, some beautiful pink satin ribbon (again from Craft Consortium’s wedding range) and a little strip of bluey paper. For the embellishment, I used two silver berries attached with a foam square, with some paper leaves to the side (from Hobbycraft) and then a Craft Consortium pearl and rhinestone embellishment on top."
